Anime
Expo 2008 settled in its new home in downtown Los Angeles on the Fourth
of July holiday weekend (July 3 - July 6, 2008) at the Los Angeles Convention
Center. There were many complaints and boycotting because of the new
location. Anaheim was great, but all good things must come to an end.
Anime Expo 2008 had a niche guest list - if you were into Metal
Gear Solid, you had David Hayter. Ouran High School Host Club
fans had a treat awaiting them as they found out who was cast in
the Funimation production.
Despite
the cries of boycotting and perceptions of gang violence waiting to
happen, Traveling Valentine and Traveling Valentine: SVU survived Anime
Expo 2008. Suffice to say, it was a satisfying event. However, Anime
Expo 2008 did not feel the same as the early days. The convention had
many highlights and lowlights. Have I said too much? There's nothing
more I can think of say to you. But all you to know is that every word
is true.
