Animation on Display (AOD, formerly Anime Overdose) took place on February 19-20, 2011 in San Francisco, CA. The event was held at the Kabuki hotel in Japantown. Roughly 1,000 or so attendees showed up for this two day event held on President's Day weekend. The small sized convention had a humble guest of honor lineup including Cristina Vee (Mio in "K-On!"), Neil Kaplan (Optimus Prime in "Transformers: Robots in Disguise"), the Robotech tour, and others. Panels were centered around anime and Asian themes because of the otaku culture that AOD is heavily associated with.

Scarlet Rhapsody first attended AOD in 2004. AOD has a special place with Scarlet Rhapsody because AOD 2005 was the first event we officially covered as press. Only Victoria from the press team attended AOD. Though she covered the esvent, she also presented two panel - The Sailor Moon Spectacular and Reporting Anime Conventions. This was a fun event to return to and we hope you enjoy our coverage. This theme reflects Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans album because Victoria had Bruno Mars stuck in her head during con.
