Anime Overdose was a very intimate convention in terms of the people. It seemed like a party in the middle of San Francisco and everyone was invited. True, I did have my worries going in, particularly with the shootings in the Tenderloin, but I managed to have a pretty good time.

Friday was a very interesting experience. I do not recall a time when Tom and I attended an anime convention wearing normal attire for the whole time. Then again, we were only present for a few hours because we arrived there directly after work. It just felt like, "Hey! Check us out for who we really are!" rather than "We're in costume as so and so who do the things and the yay."

Not to say that we don't dig cosplay. We had a very Full Metal Weekend! Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Alchemist! Our FMA costumes were an anniversary present to each other from Anime Expo. Yes, they were bought from a company that mass produces these costumes. However, we are still open to any modifications. That does not make us less than what a cosplayer is expected to be.

I was really glad to hang out with the AnimeFX (San Francisco State's anime club) and get to know each of them better. Of course, any time with friends is great quality time.

We really do hope that Anime Overdose continues to grow and bring in more guests from the animation industry. It's great that AOD is not exclusively about anime, but welcomes other forms of animation as well. I am very pleased with the staff. In all my years of attending anime conventions, I never been around a fun loving staff! You guys keep that positive energy up, ok?

Of course, lots of thanks goes to Tom, my partner in almost everything! We feel very honored to once again perform press for Anime Overdose.
