Prior to Anime Overdose, I felt tingling negative vibes. It's that feeling in your gut telling you something is not right. I got my answer on the 6PM news the Thursday before. There was a shooting on O Farrell and Jones. The case was still in investigation. Our bus would pass through the cross street if we took transit to Anime Overdose. Tom and I decided that it would be safer to drive to the convention.

Because of work, we arrived at Anime Overdose early Friday evening. We were in regular attire. We took this oppurtunity to just be ourselves and get our bearings of Anime Overdose's new location, the Cathedral Hill Hotel. Albeit a few blocks from the original location, the Holiday Inn, the hotel was much closer to food joints such as Mel's, Tommy's Joynt, and a burrito place across the street.

Our friend and Traveling Valentine intern, Richi C, ran the video game room. We made our rounds around the small convention which took one floor of the hotel. We went around the Dealer Room. I found a very good kimono booth and thought about getting a kimono from them because they had really good prices. But this turned out to be a cash only con. I was able to score some hair clips from Lolita Kisama, a Elegant Gothic and Lolita dealer.

Tom and I played focus group with Jesse and Mike from AnimeFX from flyers of different conventions. They thought that BJD Con stood for "Blow Job Something Con." It was time to head on out, but before we did, we took some photos of us in our daily attire (read: NOT cosplay).
