Saturday rolled in and we were ready for another day of AM2. The big event on Saturday was Tara Strong's panel. Tara Strong had to cancel her Friday panel due to work related issues. Unfortunately, the live programming 1 room could only seat so many attendees. Plenty of bronies that had bought premium passports. The premium passholders were given priority. Only 20 people were placed in the standby line. Luckily, Tara Strong stayed long enough after the panel to sign autographs. Not only fans of My Little Pony wanted her John Hancock, we also had fans of Power Puff Girls who remembered her role as Bubbles.

There were quite a few things to check out at AM2. While Jared was checking out the main hall with Miguel, I decided to grab a few photoshoots with friends. Upon returning, I also checked out the Cypher Circle that was set up in the main lobby of the convention center. The number of people that formed the cypher fluctuated during the day. There was a DJ who had an entire set up in the lobby. I went in for a round of "Party Rock Anthem" for the mass shuffling. While it was fun, it was not as lively as the impromptu cyphers at Fanime or Anime Expo. It was still fun to watch when people were actually dancing.

Dealer's Corner by Jared

The dealer hall was located in the corner of the main hall of AM2 and was not very impressive. There were only a handful of booths offering clothing, DVDs, and figures. There was not much selection and the booths had inflated prices. It did not seem like many people were interested in the meager selection. This was easily the smallest dealer hall I have encountered at a convention.

The Lounges and Lounge Lizards of AM2 by Jared

One thing that does set AM2 apart from other conventions is the two lounges set in the main hall. The more popular of the two lounging areas was the Brony Lounge. This area featured a TV showing episodes of My Little Pony and numerous chairs and tables for pony fans of all types to hang out and make crafts. The second lounge was much more relaxed with tables and chairs for those who want to take a break in a more relaxed environment.

Another aspect of the hall that set it apart is the band stage. Various bands performed throughout the day. Very few people seemed interested in the show, but it was easy for people to listen to the music in the lounge areas. Too bad most of the talent lacked any talent. The saxophone player in the convention concourse drew a larger audience and showed more talent than the bands on the stage.

Quentin Flynn (Lives!) by Jared

Fan favorite voice actor from Metal Gear Solid, Naruto, and Kingdom Hearts Quentin Flynn had an informal interview panel on Saturday afternoon. The panel consisted of Quentin being interviewed in front of the audience with no audience Q and A. However, there was some audience participation as Quentin called up various cosplayers and posed with them for a photo op. The panel was very funny and Quentin even started a sing-a-long featuring the theme song to Spider-Man. It was great to see Quentin Flynn and I suggest checking out his panels next time you have a chance.

Blue Rose Academy by Victoria

One thing that I really enjoyed that AM2 was the Blue Rose Academy. When I was perusing through the schedule, I found their section and I was quite curious about it. I had the impression that it was a series of workshops and activities. Basically, it was set up as an elite private school with students dressed up in formal uniforms with a blue rose motif. To play along with the theme, attendees were known as foreign exchange students at the Blue Rose Academy. Each class was $5 for non-badged attendees.

I went to the Equestria Studies event. I was under the impression that it was a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic trivia challenge. I was partially right. Basically, the class was divided into six teams and we had to to compete in party games themed to the Mane 6. This event was fun. I was able to meet new people and try something different that AM2 offers. I would reccomend checking out the Blue Rose Academy. It's the schoolgirl / schoolboy answer to a maid cafe.

By the time the clock stroke 6PM, the convention was winding down. True, there was masquerade going on at 7PM, but everyone in the group was exhausted and felt they needed to see what they needed to see at AM2. We all went our seperate ways for dinner. Deb and Stan went to Mimi's Cafe across the street. Jared and I spent time with our Bay Area friends at the food court in the Hilton. We were all conned out and by the time we got home, all of us conked out and called it a night.
