The road to AniMagic 2004...we all know the stories behind the scenes, but this is what this report is not about. It's about the many adventures of Traveling Valentine in convention land. Thursday was like any other Thursday - 'twas my day off. Tom still had class at 4PM. I was packing the entire day. When he was done with class, it was time to BART on over to the Oakland airport. Eh, my roommates thought we were crazy to hit the Daly City (much closer, drivewise) station instead of Balboa. Something about double backing, I guess. *shrug* I was too tired to get it. We went during rush hour and luckily, we were able to claim a spot for all our luggage. Once we got to our stop at Oakland airport, we ran into Al. Apparantly, he took the same BART as we did. Though we were going to the Oakland airport, we had different Southwest flights.

Our flight was slightly delayed. We kept hearing bits and pieces about how John Kerry was kicking George Bush's ass in the debates. Unfortunately, the terminal did not televise the events unlike other airports that have the news. It was a smooth flight to LA. Dad picked us up at the airport. Dad also had to drop off my aunt at Philippine Airlines since she had to leave as well. So we went her off with lots of Krispy Kreme donuts.

Tom and I arrived at my house in Long Beach. Since I was surrounded by signs to watch a certain Coppola movie, we decided to watch Tom's idea of a family movie, The Godfather. The irony is that my own godfather made us a (poor quality) VHS tape in chronological order (he made it on his own before there was even such thing). Nothing like snuggling together watching a movie about the mafia...er...Corleone familly. Meanwhile, my dad was also in the living room fixing up my laptop. He didn't seem to mind the snuggling. Hehehe

The next morning, we got up early to see my former high school. So dropped off my younger brother and I gave him a tour of the school. I introduced him to my godfather and other teachers. Afterwards, we went back home to do last minute packing for AniMagic. We took the Mercedes Benz and headed straight towards Valencia.
