I got a call from Sanchez of the RPD. He was confused if he was in Los Angeles. The train he took from LAX took him to the South Bay. I had to explain to Sanchez the tale of two South Bays. Rest assured, Officer Sanchez was in Los Angeles.

Tom arrived on Thursday night before the con. One of our favorite aspects of Anime Los Angeles is that it's a ribbon collecting con. This is not really done at your average anime convention. Basically, people hand out ribbons so you can decorate your badge. Tom had a shipment of Traveling Valentine badges that did not come in time, so we had to make do by using business cards with double sided tape.

After fighting traffic on the 405, we arrived at the Airtel Plaza in Van Nuys. Like last year, we commuted from Torrance. It is a half an hour drive. We picked up our badges and started the day off by signing up for masquerade. We explored our surroundings. Tom found an Osaka plushie he really liked in the dealer's room. I was surprised to find tons of NANA merchindise. While it was small venue, there were several items of interest. I eventually picked up a Trapnest jewelry set.

At 4PM, there was a doll gathering in the lobby. Even a little Pullip showed up. I brought Eponine. She just recieved her Christmas Box from Leekeworld. So she felt like showing off her new shoes and hairstyle. Meanwhile, Eponine started playing with Tom. Tom thought she was sucking the brains out of him. (Tom: But she WAS! I swear!) Chibi wanted to take Eponine home with her. After all, they were both in matchin PINK outfits.

Then came lots of cosplay gatherings and gags. Bart Boy and Merchant started an impromtu Resident Evil Gathering. Tom decided to pull an Ali G and interviewed members of Da Ho Club. Thanks to our Brilliant Moon Cosplay friends for all the random crazy commentary.

Tom and I wandered around the the convention area. We ran into the Los Con party suite. There was much food to be passed around. Plus, there was a ton of Italian soda to keep us quenched. The Los Con had an Indiana Jones archaeology themed room. Tons of riddles were posted around. It was another con suite, but just as spiffy.

When it was 9PM, we decided to go the Brilliant Moon Cosplay party. Dollfies from Cerebus Project started attacking Stan. Tom and Stan teamed up against the dollfies. Otherwise, sugar galore! I gave out belated Christmas presents to all my BMC friends. The night winded down singing songs from Broadway.
