Anime Central 2011 took place in Rosemont, IL on May 20-22, 2011. The Midwest's premiere convention drew in fans, young and seasoned, to the biggest party in town. Anime Central has a focus on all things Japanese pop culture. This year, we had musical guests Flow and Yoshiki. The Soap Bubble also had special guest DJs (Guhroovy, Koji Ide, M-Project, to name a few). In addition, this convention marked the debut of Hetalia creative team from Japan: Bob Shirohata, Saki, and Mika Nomura. Anime Central also continues a tradition of cosplayers of all genres, quality programming, and a happening nightlife for everyone.
Scarlet Rhapsody first attended Anime Central in 2001 back in it's final days in Arlington Heights. After years of attending on and off, this marks Scarlet Rhapsody's seventh time at Anime Central. The theme is inspired by the 1980 film, "The Blues Brothers" to coincide with the inspiration behind Anime Central's mascots, The Aoi Sisters.
