Traveling, or sometimes known as the Scarlet Rhapsody convention reports, serves to bring the best and well rounded anime convention reports that consist of text reports, event reviews, photos, guest interviews, and overall review of the event. Our turn around time is about a week or two depending on the length of the event. Most of the press team members have had previous or current experience in mass communications on a collegiate level.

Traveling was founded in late 2000 when founder, Victoria, wanted to memorialize her convention photos and stories. In the days before social networking and blogging, it was common for lady geeks to have "collective" style websites. These were stylized with custom website desgins and embedded lyrics and poetry to evoke personality. Rather than having a stale website based on a template, things were much more personalized back then. Hence why the reports have a musical related theme and different layout to each of them. Each convention experience is different from the other.

After attending Anime Expo 2000 at the Disneyland Hotel, Victoria wanted to have a website to showcase the memories and photos from the convention. She called it, Traveling, after Hikaru Utada's pop song. The name was originally going to be Masquerade as a light hearted homage to Andrew Lloyd Webber, but due to cosplay contests being called "masquerades," Victoria wanted to evade any confusion between the two. The early days were marked with just-for-fun, chocked with inside jokes, and cosplay photos.

In 2003, there was a merger with Kitsune "Tom" Valentine to create "Traveling Valentine." While the site still remained a website for convention reports, it was not until 2005 we gained press access to various anime conventions. The first was Anime Overdose 2005 when this small convention with less than 1,000 in attendence, showcased the j-rock band, Pyscho Le Cemu. After gaining press access, the site went through a change of becoming more journalistic driven, but keeping the fan in all of us still present.

In 2008, the site went back to simply "Traveling." The number of staff members has increased through the years. We have gone from a staff of two team members in 2003 to a press team of four or six depending on how many people we need to cover an event. Today, Traveling still remains to deliver themed convention reports and give the best overall review possible.
