[On Location] Downtown Orange

Downtown Orange (Orange, CA)

Sometimes known as The Orange Circle, this location is great for having an old town look. The buildings and architecture are reminiscent of 1950s mid-America. Films such as “That Thing You Do!” and “Pleasantville” were filmed here.

The most popular attraction is the fountain in the circle itself. Families typically meet up here after 12PM. If you were to schedule a photoshoot here, we recommend to do so early in the morning.

Further down North Glassell Street, you can also find Chapman University and several arts and crafts period style homes. The photos below are Chapman’s psychology buildings (rumor has it that its haunted!). “Independence Day”‘s White House exterior shots were filmed here.

The Orange Circle is also very pet friendly!

Restaurants

There are a ton of mom and pop restaurants in Downtown Orange. Many of these have a 1950s feel. You can grab cream soda and root beer for under $3. If you enjoy Japanese food, Tokyo Cafe has $5 sushi rolls. There is also A Perfect Circle Cupcakery which has award winning cupcake featured on The Food Network.

Transit and Parking

Parking is easy to come by. There is a lot of street parking in the residential area. The OCTA buses run through the Orange Circle.
