The Disneybound
Per my other Jojo themed visit, I decided to do a #rulebreaker bound again. Hence, I went as a rather dapper rendition of Dio Brando from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures: Stardust Crusaders. I always need excuses creating new Disneybound coordinates and dressing dapper. The dress, hair accessories, bracelets, and shoes are from Sidecca. The dress also comes in an assortment of colorways. Sidecca will be at Dapper Day Expo. I got a lot of compliments for this dress though I didn’t expect anyone to know Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures. Likewise, it’s an excuse to Jojo pose (and not break my back) and look cute.
Character Meet ‘n Greets
Because Monday is a holiday for some and some California school districts now use this week as “Fall Break,” most E-ticket attractions were met with 60+ minute waits. I decided to do character meet ‘n greets. I don’t normally get to do this often, but it’s a lot of fun. It takes some time for me to get used to face characters being “in character” and reacting likewise; I tend to be very shy in new situations. However, I’m glad I was able to do something I don’t normally get to do a lot.
And even more pictures…just because
So I need more of these guys to take down Jojo and friends.
This band was marching all over the parks throughout the day playing songs by John Williams and various Disney classics. I’ve never seen them before. They were passing by while I was waiting in line for Alice and as I was exiting.
Trying to get that lagoon + Mattherhorn photo…yet the sun is always in my eyes.I don’t get to spend time in Toontown much; it is the ghetto-land of all lands. However, there’s some places to get a few cute dapper photos.
I didn’t know there were more things to explore at the E.P. Ripley station in New Orleans Square including this steam whistle, more on various Disney related railways, etc.
Trying to WRY on Ghost Galaxy.
I keep forgetting to take pictures with this set up while I’m in something pinup-esque.
One of the few times I actually posed as Dio – the shoes tired me out so fast.
Quick! While #Dabbing is still a thing!
Tower of Terror: Late Checkout
I haven’t done the late check out edition prior to this visit. It’s been around for a few weeks. Essentially, it’s the same attraction, but it’s all done pitch black. It starts up around sunset; I lined up around 5:30PM. Because of the holiday / Fall Break crowds, it’s not surprise that the wait for Tower of Terror was an estimated 80 minutes posted. The original Hollywood Tower Hotel is slowly stripping down the dilapidated elegance. Not too long ago, the sign was taken down. Now, there’s scaffolding on the left hand side of the hotel. Technically, this is supposed to close for good on January 2. However, changes are slowly being made.
After a tiresome wait outside (and entertainment from the Pixar Pals parade), we went right into the lobby. I did see this new set up in the lobby during my last visit. I didn’t think it was real entertainment. However, according to the Disney website, they actually do have a trio perform here. It doesn’t give specific times, but they’re usually there from 1PM to 8PM. Even waiting in line for close to an hour, I didn’t see any performances. I hope to before this disappears.
Because the line inside the boiler room was moving slow and there was one tower out service, just wanted to get a photo here with one of the cursed service elevators.
Trying to WRY in the photo.
Tower of Terror in the dark is a different experience. At this point, I’ve only done it once. It’s the same attraction audio but it’s completely pitch black. I don’t know if the drops are randomized, but there were points where I didn’t know when the elevator was going to drop. Having done this many a time since 2004, I kinda memorized the attraction’s drop pattern, but not knowing when you’re going to be dropped does add to the experience. I’m not sure if I’d wait an hour for it while wearing high heel pinup style shoes, but it’s definitely something I’d like to do again before this goes away for good. I know everyone is excited for Guardians of the Galaxy, but let me say farewell and go through the grieving process before I reach acceptance.
