Pacific Media Expo took place on October 21 to October 23, 2022 at the Sheraton in the San Gabriel Valley. PMX has been known “back in the day” as THE Lolita event prior to Lolita fashion branching off and doing their own weekenders. The con celebrates all cultures and pop entertainment in the Pacific Rim. In the past, PMX brought in Asian American and international guests to their table. And then they brought me as a Cosplay Guest. Like whoa.
Other guests included voice actor, Risa Mei and and Kazha.
It was an honor to be a guest at this event. We ended up going on Saturday and Sunday to fulfill guest and panelist duties. PMX is one of the last SoCal hotel cons. This experience begged the question – in a world of convention centers and outdoor fairs in this post-lockdown world, is there a space for hotel cons anymore?
