[Con Report] Long Beach Comic Con ’19: Torn

Long Beach Comic Con ’19 took place on August 31 to September 1, 2019 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The convention took place in the main area of the convention center facing Ocean Boulevard. Guests this year included pro wrestlers, cast members of Stranger Things, among others. LBCC has served the South Bay fandom community for close to a decade. We were there at day one when Stan Lee cut the ribbon at the dedication ceremony. Suffice to say, this was one of the weaker years of Long Beach Comic Con, and perhaps a sign of the oversaturation of the Southern California fandom con scene at large. Considering that Crunchyroll Expo took the anime crowd, Dragon Con got the convention veterans, and there was LA Comic Con on the horizon.

Our team covered Sunday of Long Beach Comic Con. Saturday could have been covered if parking information had been clearly communicated due to a shared space event at the convention center which blocked off our usual parking structures.
